Be aware that the biggest danger for Drowning is the home swimming pool! Thirty percent of all unintentional deaths for toddlers aged 1 to 4 years are from drownings, most in family owned pools.  Constant, careful supervision is key.  Never leave children unsupervised when they are in water.  Have children take swimming lessons. Even tiny children can learn to tread water, swim to the side and hold on.  A secure latch fence around  pools to prevent unsupervised access and using life-jackets when you’re in lakes, ponds or the ocean are also important prevention measures.
