Responsibilities:

Gathers information on patient symptoms and utilizes protocols as outlined in the Barton Schmitt book,

Pediatric Telephone Protocols, to provide telephone triage/guidance

Identifies and prioritizes urgent patient situations

Schedules patients for appointments

Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physician instructions to patient parents

Consults with the physicians via EHR messaging or verbally as needed

Documents all communications with patient and physician in EHR

Processes refill requests with pharmacies

Completes patient forms for schools, daycares and summer camps

Researches and obtains insurance authorizations for physician referrals

Monitors and maintains physician schedules and reschedules patient appointments as needed

Job Type: Full Time
Required license: LVN
Required experience: Phone triage x 1 year
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Rotating Saturdays
Pay: Starting at $23/hour

Responsibilities:

Greets patients and parents and escorts to exam room

Obtains and records vitals and medical history in EHR

Cleans and prepares exam rooms

Assists physicians with procedures (handing them instruments and materials)

Cleans and sterilizes instruments

Prepares and administers vaccinations

Collects and prepares blood or other lab specimens

Performs routine lab tests

Explains treatment procedures

Changes dressing on wounds, removes sutures

Schedules med-checks, well visits and follow-up appointments

Contacts other medical facilities to schedule tests or admissions

Job Type: Full Time
Required education: High school or equivalent, completion of medical assistant training
Required experience: Medical Assistant in practice setting (preferred x 1 year)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Rotating Saturdays
Pay: Starting at $15/hour
