*Multitasking

I recently read a book called Essentialism and it really opened my eyes to how little gets done when you are trying to do/accomplish multiple things at once. I am guilty of this, I feel like my brain is spaghetti sometimes and I am trying to do too much at once, when I could really be more productive if I can channel my energy and focus to one task at a time. Studies show that when you multitask you waste energy going between activities, because you have to re-engage each time you switch. Even if you can “multitask” you can NOT mult-focus! It is best if you can pick a single “to-do” and set a timer for 20, 30, or even 60 minutes and focus your energy on that task for that allotted time. When you focus your energy on one task, you move forward faster and use less energy. You can create better habits and teach your brain to better focus when you do this. Teach your brain to be a little less “ADHD-ish”.
